In 2003, the Museum presented its new permanent exhibit, made possible by the financial support of the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec. In this major project, the inside of the Museum was completely redesigned in order to present, in an attractive and highly professionnal manner, the content that has been revisited and rendered more accessible to the general public. The history of Canadian air defence is presented through texts, pictures and various objects from tiny badges to huge jet engines. Many new artefacts have been included in the exhibit including many models and a number of mannequins showing different flight gear worn by pilots since the First World War. The Museum's collection, which is in constant expansion, has more than 3,000 objects, many of which are included in the new exhibits.

The new exibition presents many interactive displays including two interactive stations for young people created with the financial support of the Department of Canadian Heritage. The kids will be able to learn more on the history of air defence in Canada with this revolutionnary presentation operated from the replica of a fighter jet cockpit.
